Women's Movement Marched Against Foreign Influence Bill in Georgia
On March 7th, the Women's Movement led a march from Republic Square towards Rustaveli Avenue in Tbilisi, which was attended by members of non-governmental organizations and civilians.
The protest was in response to the approval of the Transparency of Foreign Influence bill in the first reading by the parliament. The participants objected to the bill, stating that it would restrict women's rights and force western organizations to withdraw from the country.
During the protest, a manifesto was read out outlining the damage that the bill would cause to the country. Similar demonstrations were held in various regions of Georgia.
