NBG President Natia Turnava Meets with IMF Leadership During Spring Meetings

As part of the Spring Meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank in the United States, Natia Turnava, President of the National Bank of Georgia (NBG), and Lasha Khutsishvili, Georgia’s Minister of Finance, held high-level talks with Jeroen Klitschko, Executive Director of the IMF, and Marnix van Ree, Alternate Managing Director.

The meeting was also attended by NBG Vice Presidents Ekaterine Mikabadze and Ekaterine Galdava, alongside deputy ministers from the Ministries of Finance and Economy.

Discussions focused on Georgia’s macroeconomic outlook, emphasizing recent growth indicators, the NBG’s consistent monetary policy, and efforts to ensure price stability and the resilience of the financial system.

The parties also addressed global economic risks and challenges, and reviewed avenues for continued cooperation. An upcoming IMF mission to Georgia was also on the agenda.

Jeroen Klitschko expressed his anticipation of the forthcoming visit, underscoring the Fund's ongoing engagement with Georgia.
