NBG President Natia Turnava Meets ECB’s Christine Lagarde at BIS Annual Conference

Natia Turnava, President of the National Bank of Georgia (NBG), participated in the 24th Annual Conference of the Bank for International Settlements (BIS), where the role of central banks in the era of digitalization and global economic fragmentation was discussed.

During the conference, Natia Turnava met with Christine Lagarde, President of the European Central Bank (ECB), and exchanged views on the challenges facing the global financial system. On behalf of the National Bank of Georgia, she personally thanked Christine Lagarde for the ECB’s continued support.

The BIS Annual Conference was also attended by Andrew Bailey, Governor of the Bank of England; Jerome Powell, Chair of the U.S. Federal Reserve; and Pan Gongsheng, Governor of the People’s Bank of China.
