Natia Turnava Meets with the New Ambassador of Hungary
Governor of the National Bank of Georgia, Natia Turnava, met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Hungary to Georgia, Dr. Petra Ponevács-Pana.
During the introductory meeting, the parties discussed opportunities to further deepen the existing relations between Georgia and Hungary. It was emphasized that the central banks of the two countries share a long-standing history of cooperation.
The Governor of the National Bank of Georgia briefed the Ambassador of Hungary on the key priorities and ongoing projects of the National Bank of Georgia.
It was noted that a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) is planned to be signed between the National Bank of Georgia and the Central Bank of Hungary. The MoU is expected to establish a solid institutional framework for strengthening bilateral cooperation, including in the areas of payment systems, financial services, and the exchange of best practices.
The parties also discussed the projects related to the deepening of regional cooperation.
The meeting was also attended by Dominik Kári, Economic Counsellor of the Embassy of Hungary and Giorgi Edilashvili, Head of the International Relations Department of the National Bank of Georgia.
