“It is a great honor and delight for me to participate in the conference dedicated to the anniversary of Georgia’s national currency, hosted by the National Bank,” said Jeffrey Sachs, renowned economist and professor at Columbia University, during the conference marking the 30th anniversary of the lari.
In his remarks, Sachs praised Georgia as a “wonderful country with an ancient and rich history that has contributed greatly to the world.”
“I want to congratulate everyone on this important occasion and wish you success in the future,” he added.
The international conference, titled “From Trust to Close Cooperation,” has brought together over 300 guests from around 30 countries. Panelists are discussing global financial systems and monetary policy, developments in the financial sector, new economic challenges, and the role of central banks in fostering regional cooperation.
