ADB Advisor Praises Georgia’s Low Inflation and Strong Growth as Pillars of Economic Stability
“I was very impressed that Georgia has very low inflation and high economic growth. You have achieved successful stability in terms of the exchange rate and currency barriers, which is very important. I hope you will continue on this path of high economic growth, development, and deeper economic integration with many countries,” said Sayuri Shirai, Sustainable Policy Advisor at the Asian Development Bank (ADB), during a large-scale international conference marking the 30th anniversary of the Georgian lari.
According to Shirai, in light of dramatic global changes, Europe is becoming an increasingly important market for Japan. This, she suggested, could pave the way for greater foreign direct investment in the region.
“I hope we get to know each other better. Europe is becoming a very important market for Japan. Hopefully, we will engage more and promote foreign direct investment,” she noted.
