On 14–16 November, the Georgian capital of Tbilisi will host the third edition of an international data and communications event designed to inspire its participants to explore new opportunities to engage with and use data.
The event will offer a platform for sharing information on new trends and best practices in data journalism, data application in policy-making processes, data science and artificial intelligence, data visualisation, data application for marketing and business, and data and cyber security.
The event is open to representatives of civil society not-for-profit media from the EU’s Eastern partners: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine.
The participation is competition-based. In order to be selected, the candidates should, as a part of their job, use open data and public records for evidence-based policy dialogue with national and/or local authorities. When applying or an event, the applicants should also demonstrate their experience in organising evidence-based advocacy campaigns and actions, and independent investigations to raise awareness and inform the general public. They should also have experience of developing and supporting IT tools and solutions based on open data.
The participation fees of the successful applicants, as well as travel and accommodation costs for international participants selected, will be covered by the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Facility, which is organising the event.
