TBC Concept Hosts Photographer John Stenmeyer
On August 15, TBC Concept Flagship at 7 Marjanishvli St. will host Photographer, John Stenmeyer’s public talk. John Stenmeyer will speak about his works and experiences.

John Stanmeyer is an American documentary photographer and a co-founder of the photo agency "VII". For more than 15 years, John has worked nearly exclusively with National Geographic magazine, producing over 19 stories dedicated to environmental, social, and cultural issues that define our times. Between 1998 and 2008, John was a contract photographer for Time magazine. His years with Time resulted in 18 covers. He is the recipient of numerous honors, including the prestigious Robert Capa Award, POYi Magazine Photographer of the Year, and the World Press Photo of the Year in 2014. Nowadays, the main themes of Stanmeyer's photo projects are human rights and the political and economic crises in Asia and the Middle East.
On August 7-13, Stanmeyer will be mentoring a visual storytelling workshop in Tbilisi for young Georgian photographers. This week-long workshop is on inner and professional growth to expand photographers in multi-dimensional ways.
John Stanmeyer alongside with photography curator Myriam Grigalashvili will be spending seven deeply immersive days with Georgian visual storytellers to delve into the art and purpose of long-form narrative essays. Together they will expand their ongoing projects and turn new story ideas into meaningful, successful photography reports. Along with the spiritual and photographic expansion, the workshop will nurture photographers' careers on how to have their work published in international publications, books, and exhibitions.
The project is implemented by cultural platform "Culture and Contacts" with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Georgia.
