TAB Presents Shorisdebuli - an Installation of Aleksandre Gachechiladze and Davit Beitrishvili

TAB presents Shorisdebuli, an installation made by Aleksandre Gachechiladze and Davit Beitrishvili within the framework of the biennale.

Location: Nearby Sports Palace: Pavle Aslanidi St. #29a, Tbilisi, Georgia

Analyzing the main topic of the biennial led to the hypothesis that in an unhealthy urban environment, the concept of emptiness itself becomes a fragile, temporal phenomenon. This thought is solidified through the observation of territory near Sports Palace. Chronological analysis of historic maps shows us that over time density increases on the territory, and residence typologies are changed.

The Present installation manifests a question in the space – what is behind the curtain? What will be next? On the one hand, the installation speaks about emptiness – the importance of keeping a balance between the built environment and open space. On the other hand, it speaks about an individual, a citizen who became a spectator and should be brought back as a self-conscious actor.
