Photography Exhibition of Saulius Paukštys to Held in Tbilisi History Museum

Georgian National Museum and Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania to Georgia present the Photography exhibition "THE SCENES OF VILNUS - VAN DYKE BROWN PRINTS" by Saulius Paukštys at Tbilisi History Museum.

Presented photos in the exhibition reflect Vilnius medieval architecture depicting the buildings and compositions. They are printed using a unique Van Dyke technology, which was patented back in the XIX century.

Hand-made paper is coated with an emulsion containing silver nitrate and then exposed to ultraviolet light. This technology is very sensitive to the proportions of chemicals and to the quality of the paper. Because of this sophisticated process, every print is unique and the texture of the paper makes them similar to graphic art.

The exhibition opens on June 12, 2019, at 18:00.

Attendance at the opening of the exhibition is free of charge.
