Fotografia Gallery Hosts Charity Art Exhibition in Support of Ukraine
On August 20, 18:00 pm, Fotografia Gallery opens the charity art exhibition in support of Ukraine, where informative posters of the works of Ukrainian artists will be presented. The exhibition is fundraiser and all money raised will be transferred to the Artists Support Ukraine Foundation (ASU) to help Ukrainian artists in need.
The idea behind the exhibition is to disseminate information about the Russian invasion in Ukraine and the consequences of the war and, at the same time, to support the Ukrainian creative sector including artists and cultural workers in need.
Ukrainian artists and illustrators prepared artworks and posters from by their personal stories and perspectives on the war. The list of artists includes Alevtina Kakhidze, Vlada Ralko, Anton Logov, Olexiy Sai, Igor Gusev, Maria Kulikovskaya and others.
Ukrainian cultural communities are giving huge informational and emotional support to Ukrainian people every minute wherever they are: defending, volunteering, hiding in bomb shelters or continuing to create. With their voices we are calling the whole world––#Stand With Ukraine.
ASU calls on the global cultural community to speak out in support of Ukraine and become ambassadors of peace and justice.
An exhibition of Ukrainian artists is shown across the world in order to support Ukraine and its cultural community: artists and cultural workers who have remained in hot spots in the country and are often in urgent need of support. Art and culture communities in many countries are producing the ready-to-print exposition, and we encourage you to support the initiative.
To this date, this exhibition is supported by Sculpture by The Sea (Sydney), Yorkshire Sculpture Park (Weikfield), Female Photoclub & Belle Collective (Berlin). The exhibition has been held at Sølvberget gallery (Stavanger), Flekkefjord Cultural Center (Flekkefjord), Ukrainska Konstnärer i Sverige (Stockholm), Helmut Space (Leipzig), Sparrow Space Calgary (Alberta), Squat17B (Kyiv), Vaund Creative Space (Stuttgart), New Bulgarian University (Sofia), Kuenstlerhause Bethanien (Berlin), Fairmont Grand Hotel (Kyiv) and to be opened in Fotografia Gallery (Tbilisi).
How you can help:

Donations will be sent to ASU emergency fund to support the small grants program for cultural workers, including artists, curators, and others. The funds will go to those cultural workers who remained within the borders of Ukraine, mainly in hot spots and cannot or would not, for various reasons, leave for a safer place.
Support for female photographers, currently staying and working in war-time Ukraine—this program created in collaboration with partners Female Photoclub and Bell Collective.
Artists, curators, and cultural institutions from all over the world, please help with your voice to stop the Russian war against Ukraine and against human rights and freedoms!
