Exploring the Intersection of Myth and the Modern City: Student Exhibition at the Factory Project Space

For centuries, humans have searched for meaning in their existence and translated it through various forms of art. In modern times, with the rise of digital complexity, the boundaries between reality and the virtual world have become increasingly blurred, leaving us in a state of uncertainty. However, this uncertainty can also lead us to examine deeper values and beliefs, and find inner strength.

The student exhibition "Myth? City?" at the Factory Project Space seeks to explore the hermetic sign system of the modern city and uncover its deep mythological layers. The works on display are allusions to Jean Baudrillard's "The City and Hatred" and the archaic Georgian myth of "Amiran."

Featuring the works of second-year students from the Faculty of Fine Arts and fourth-year students from the Media Faculty, the exhibition aims to show how the text of culture is created through the interpretation of myth within the modern city.

The exhibition will open on April 4, 2023, at 18:00 and run until April 16, 2023, at the Factory Project Space. The participating artists include Nini Sakvarelidze, Sofo Kordzakhia, Nata Gelashvili, Luka Ishkhneli, Gigi Giorbelidze, Nita Maare, Victoria Sarkisov, Elene Lobzhanidze, Salome Turashvili, Nika Tvauri, Valeria Valishvili, Mariam Kartsidze, Mariam Gogiashvili, Giorgi Chkhaidze, Keti Davitadze, Tina Bikinashvili, Eliza Jibedncharadze, Davit Kublashvili, Nika Kochlamazashvili, Luka Khoferia, Dea Dekanoidze, Davit Gindia, Ekaterine Babina, Giorgi Kortkhonjia, Saba Gelashvili, Marishka Tsiklauri, Natia Tkabladze, Tatia Mangoshvili, Giorgi Okujava, Nika Butsinashvili, Natia Bukhrashvili, Ia Kvrivishvili, Elene Managadze, and Natalie Shubitidze.
