EPAM Engineering Hackathon to be Held First time in Georgia In September

On September 18-19, EPAM Georgia in cooperation with StrategEast and with the support of GITA, will conduct the first EPAM Engineering Hackathon whose main message is - Design your future.

EPAM Engineering Hackathon is focused on the implementation of technological ideas that will improve the daily lives of Georgian citizens and develop the IT environment in Georgia.

Anyone has the opportunity to offer their ideas, and representatives of the IT field can participate in the implementation of these ideas and, as a result, contribute to the public welfare.

What is EPAM Engineering Hackathon?

PEPAM started operating in Georgia in October 2020 and since then has been actively involved in the development of the Georgian IT market. EPAM has repeatedly given local talent interested in IT a free opportunity to learn and develop.

EPAM Engineering Hackathon is another initiative for the development of the Georgian IT industry. EPAM is ready to share its experience and knowledge with IT talents in Georgia and help them create products that will change the daily lives of Georgian citizens for the better.

At the request of stakeholders, EPAM is ready to complete one of the hackathon projects. Regardless of whether the participating team members will continue to work on the project.

Hackathon results and codes will be publicly available to everyone. Companies, engineers and other stakeholders will have access to the materials they will use to create any project that is beneficial to the community.

EPAM Georgia invites the private, governmental and civil sectors to present their ideas on which the participants will work on the hackathon.

12 - 20 August / Stage 1: Gather ideas

20 - 23 August / Stage 2: Resolving Ideas

23 - 28 August / Stage 3: Register participants / teams for ideas of their choice

8 - 14 September / Stage 4: Introducing Mentors

18 - 19 September / Hackathon and Winners Announced

How to present an idea?

If you have an idea that can improve the daily lives of Georgian citizens with the help of information technology, you can submit it by filling out an application at the link.

How do I participate?

Registration will be opened on August 23. Teams must choose from the list of pre-selected ideas provided by EPAM that they want to work on the hackathon.

We also invite people without a team to participate. The organizers will distribute them as teams according to the chosen ideas.

What should I expect from a hackathon?

Teams will be consulted by industry experts about selected projects a week before the hackathon. During the hackathon, participants will be able to listen to the advice of mentors and attend masterclasses by leading specialists from the global IT community.

Teams are given 2 days to create their project prototype / MVP and submit it to the jury on September 19th.

The jury consists of leading professionals from the Georgian IT community, including representatives of EPAM, GITA and StrategEast.

Announcement of the winner

Winners will be revealed on the day of the event. Hackathon will have two winning teams:

1.Selected by the jury, which will be awarded a special prize.

2.EPAM nominee, who will be awarded a special prize and a unique opportunity to complete their project with the help of EPAM experts.

We have high hopes that the projects created on the hackathon will have a positive impact on the community and its daily life.
