Bakhmaro Hosts Traditional Horse Race- Bakhmaro Cup 2022

The traditional horse racing of Bakhmaro - "Bakhmaro Cup 2022" will be held in Bakhmaro resort on August 19.

As a bank with high social responsibility, the Bank of Georgia supports interesting and traditional sports events. "Bakhmaro" and "Nabeglavi" will be the organizers. 

The foundation of horse racing tradition in Bakhmaro was laid in the 30s of the last century, the event is held every year on August 19. Dozens of riders from Samegrelo, Adjara, Guria, and other regions of the country participate in the event every year. For participants, winning a horse race is a matter of honor. The event aims to promote horse racing as a sport in Georgia and develop the Bakhmaro resort.

Spring water "Bakhmaro" has a cash prize fund for the winners, which amounts to 15,000 GEL. "Nabeghlavi" will also give the prize money to the winners.

Organized by the company "Healthy Water" and the National Federation of Folk Horse Riding of Georgia, the event consists of four runs, the distances of which are 1,200, 1,200, 2,400 and 4,800 meters.

Registration will be held on August 18, at 12 o'clock, in Bakhmaro, at the start of the horse race. The competition will start on August 19 at 13:00.

Bakhmaro is located in the region of Guria, at an altitude of 2 thousand meters above sea level, in a basin rich in Sochi and spruce, and is known for its unique healing climate. At the beginning of 2019, Bakhmaro resort was granted the status of a township, and in the spring - the status of a highland settlement.
