Youth Voice’ Project Concludes with National Awards Ceremony

Today, the grand closing event of the "Youth Voice" project by the National Institute of Debates and Education was held at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University's Building 2, in the Physics Large Auditorium. The "Youth Voice" project is supported by the Youth Agency of Georgia and is being implemented throughout Georgia with the involvement of Debate Institute consultants and international trainers.

At the awards ceremony, special Cups were presented to the most successful debaters from 20 municipalities of Georgia: Oni, Tsalka, Kharagauli, Gori, Kaspi, Tserovani, Khashuri, Tbilisi, Gurjaani, Sighnaghi, Dedoplistskaro, Lagodekhi, Baghdati, Poti, Batumi, Sagarejo, Chokhatauri, Chkhorotsku, Telavi, and Samtredia, and active project participants were certified. The event was attended, along with teachers and students, by representatives from the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia and the Youth Agency, as well as representatives from the municipalities, education resource centers involved in the project, school principals and local community members - over 300 guests in total.

In the first stage of the project, participants were selected through a multi-stage competitive selection process; from over 700 applicants, 15 participants were selected in 20 municipalities. Then an intensive cycle of trainings began with the selected groups in target municipalities. In the second stage of the project, training participants engaged in regional debate championships, which were attended by over 1,000 people from all regions. Ultimately, the most successful debaters advanced to the national championship.

Young people aged 14 to 29 participated in the project completely free of charge. It aimed to develop skills in young people such as: constructive reasoning, argumentation, research, oratory, teamwork, time management, respect for opponents, and others.

The project is funded by the Youth Agency within the framework of the 2025 grant competition "Strengthening Youth Organizations."
