Wizz Air Marks 10-Year Operation in Georgia- General Director is Visiting Georgia

The co-founder and general director of Europe's fastest-growing airline Wizz Air, Jozsef Varadi, is on a working visit to Georgia.

Within the framework of the visit, Jozsef Varadi met with the Vice Prime Minister of Georgia, Minister of Economy, and Sustainable Development Levan Davitashvili. The meeting was attended by the Ambassador of Hungary to Georgia, Anna Maria Shiko, the Deputy Minister of Economy, Mariam Kvrivishvili, and the Director of the Union of Georgian Airports, Tamar Archuadze. At the meeting, the parties discussed ways to further deepen cooperation and the possibility of adding new directions in the future.

Jozsef Varadi: "The first Wizz Air flight was performed at Kutaisi International Airport in September 2012. As we celebrate the 10th anniversary of our operation in Georgia, we would like to reaffirm our interest in business development and growth in the country. After a year-long forced hiatus caused by the Covid pandemic, we have brought back a second base airline in the country, added direct routes, and increased the frequency of existing flights. The demand for travel is increasing every day, which is why Wizz Air is actively working to increase the frequency of flights from Georgia. In accordance with the development of the company, it is planned to increase the frequencies in different directions, as well as to add routes in new directions."

Wizz Air has been operating in Georgia for 10 years and has 2 aircraft based at Kutaisi International Airport. At this stage, the airline flies from Kutaisi to 22 destinations in 14 countries.
