We Plan to Introduce Anti-Dumping Law to Ensure Just Regulations

Today, on May 14, Ministry of Economy Natia Turnava visited major metallurgical enterprises in Rustavi – Rustavi Steel and Geostyle.

Both enterprises employ more than 2500 persons and the main part of their products are exported to foreign countries.
It is important that enterprises have launched process to move to energy efficient platforms and this is the result of our large-scale reform in power sector, the Minister said.

The Minister of Economy also made an accent on promotion of enterprises on domestic and foreign markets.

“It was important to discuss how to promote these enterprises on foreign markets, because they export their products to foreign markets. They need serious support to be in competitive and equal conditions in relation to other international global competitors. We also plan to adopt an anti-dumping law to ensure just competition regulations and protect the market and consumers from low-quality analogues”, the Minister said.

The Minister of Economy noted that she will visit similar enterprises in the future too and find problem solution mechanisms jointly with management of these enterprises.
