Wang Lei: Georgia Tries to Become Guaranteed and Safe Supplier of Natural Gas to European Countries
Wang Lei, Vice President of China Tianchen Engineering Corporation (TCC), within the frames of the Tbilisi Silk Road Forum, talked about modern energy supply trends, Georgia’s energy potential and joint projects that are being implemented in the country in this regard.
“Next century, natural gas will be more important to the electricity sector since not only will the green solutions be achieved, but fewer emissions and fewer emissions as well. Georgia seeks to successfully build a bridge to Europe and become a guaranteed and safe natural gas supplier to European countries. We are implementing a project in Georgia, so we have studied this country well, we believe that Georgia is an important partner in this region. We are currently working on the Gardabani power plant project commissioned by the Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation. Georgia has good resources for hydro power development. Especially in winter, we are seeing a growing demand that hydro resources cannot meet. In terms of power supply, we promote Georgia’s electrical security by building an electric enterprise. We see that even if there is a complete disruption to this power supply, the electricity supply and distribution to consumers will be provided undisturbed,” – Wang Lei said.
At the Parallel Panel Discussion: The Future of Energy - Emerging trends, Security and Sustainability of the Silk Road Energy Belt and beyond, the Vice President of China Tianchen Engineering Corporation (TCC), highlighted the necessity of preparing the qualified workforce. “We are looking for the new opportunities in the energy sector, we see the increasing demand on civil engineers, qualified personnel to improve the professional services. We would like to support the “Cycle of Life” projects in Georgia as well as in other countries,” – the Vice President of China Tianchen Engineering Corporation (TCC) commented.
