Viktor Kipiani: We Hear Unrealistic Discussions on Georgia’s Role in New Geopolitical Order

Should we expect a new geopolitical order and what role will Georgia play on the world’s economic map? – Geocase analytical company director Viktor Kipiani  analyzed the mentioned issues for Business Partner.

"Part of the business sector is expected to relocate the production to Eastern Europe, Central Europe and Turkey. We should harmonize our plans with these prospects. We should mobilize resources. We should find our niche in this mini hub, compared to Asian hubs”, Kipiani noted.

The question is whether we are ready in terms of qualified workforce to assume certain responsibilities and fulfill certain functions. The lack of qualified workforce is the major challenge and problem, he added.

Considerations that anti-globalism will replace globalism are untimely and ungrounded, Kipiani added.

“Economic globalization over the past 30 years has been running ahead of geopolitical globalization and we have received an interesting and, at the same time, risky global economic platform.

There are several hubs worldwide that produce characteristic products and supply unique services to the world. In the event one of these hubs suffers system crisis, immediately, all other hubs are contaminated. I presume we will more dispersion and new hubs will be created.

This is an exceptional crisis that combines three key elements: We have crisis in healthcare sector, economy and international relations. Only difference is that this crisis in the healthcare sector is of exogenic character, because it does not depend on human moods, efforts, interventions and will. We have never suffered similar crisis before.

This factor was generated independently of us and this factor affects both financial sector and real economy. This case was called as the Big Pause as it has halted real economy. Therefore, this is a unique phenomenon.

Despite the degree of interconnection between these three factors, unless the health sector defeats this crisis, it will be untimely and unreasonable to discuss crisis resolution prospects in the remaining two sectors. If we have to choose one of these elements, then we should pay more attention to the healthcare sector”, Viktor Kipiani concluded.
