US Company to Build Bakhvi-1 Small HPP in Guria Region

A US company plans to implement a small HPP project of Bakhvi 1 in Chokhatauri, Economy Minister Natia Turnava noted after the May 21 government meeting.

The Georgian Authorities will do their best for successful implementation of the project, Natia Turnava said.

“At today’s government meeting was have approved one good energy project. This is Bakhvi 1 small HPP project with 12 megawatt power. The project will be implemented in Guria region, Chokhatauri Municipality. This is an important project for us, because this is Georgian energy with 20 job places. The project will be implemented by an US investment.

The project was initiated by major investment fund Cerberus Capital Management and its affiliated company Cerberus Frontier that implements various projects in Georgia. Bakhvi 1 will be its fifth project in our country”, Natia Turnava noted.
