Union of Oil Product Importers: Diesel Imports Declines in January-June

Diesel imports have shrunk in January-June period, the Union of Oil Importers of Georgia says.

Petrol and diesel imports in January-June made up 494.3 thousand tons, down 22.5 thousand tons year on year (516.8 thousand tons).

Including, petrol imports in January-June constituted 259.7 thousand tons, up 3 000 tons year on year (+1.2%), while diesel imports made up 234.6 thousand tons, down 25.5 thousand tons (-10.9%).

Due to fuel categories, petrol imports in January-June 2019 made up:

A-91 petrol – 172.3 thousand tons 66.3%; A-95 premium – 82.6 thousand tons 31.8%, A-98 petrol – 4.8 thousand tons 1.8%.

As to imports markets in January-June 2019, Russia ranks first with 151.8 thousand tons and 30.7% in total imports of diesel and petrol. Romania ranks second with 130.2 thousand tons (26.3%), Azerbaijan is third with 97 thousand tons (19.6%), Bulgaria is fourth with 47 000 tons (9.5%), Turkmenistan – 42.6 thousand tons (8.6%), Greece – 25.1 thousand tons (5.1%).
