The largest investor in Georgia is the United Kingdom. British investors in Georgia increased their foreign direct investment volume by 38% in 2019 and invested $ 247.8 million in the Georgian economy. This is 19.5% of total investments in the country.

Turkey takes the second place. Compared to 2018, the volume of Turkish investments in 2019 increased by 3.8 times and reached $ 236.5 million.

Ireland is in third place with a 10.5% share. Irish investment volume in 2019 increased from $ 3.2 million to $ 132.7 million in 2018

Foreign direct investment in Georgia increased by 0.2% to $ 1.27 billion in 2019 compared to 2018.

The largest foreign direct investment in the financial sector amounted to $ 261.8 million, or 20.6% of total foreign direct investment. In second place is the energy sector with $ 193.9 million, followed by the hotel and restaurant sector with $ 157.5 million.
