At today’s government session held at the Government Administration, the importance of regulating the prices of pesticides and agrochemicals was discussed.
During the session, it was noted that it is essential, on the one hand, to thoroughly analyze the factors driving price increases and, on the other hand, to develop an effective and long-term solution mechanism that will максимально protect the socio-economic interests of citizens.
The Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, based on consultations with farmers and sector specialists, is actively working on this issue.
“As you know, one of the major challenges in agriculture is, on the one hand, the volume of pesticide use, and on the other hand, their price. Therefore, at the initiative of the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture has been tasked with studying this issue and taking appropriate action. This factor largely determines the price of agricultural products. Accordingly, it is especially important to thoroughly examine and analyze all components that will help reduce the cost of agricultural products,” stated Davit Songulashvili.
