Lasha Dolidze, Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, attended a consultation meeting organized by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) with Georgian government institutions.
FAO held a series of consultation meetings with various ministries of the Government of Georgia and international development partners to discuss the Country Programme Framework (CPF) for 2026–2030.
“I would like to thank the Food and Agriculture Organization for its contribution to the development of Georgia’s agriculture over the years. FAO’s support plays a particularly important role in enhancing the competitiveness of the agri-sector and introducing modern, sustainable approaches. It is noteworthy that the Country Programme Framework is fully aligned with the ministry’s priorities and creates a solid foundation for effective future cooperation,” said Lasha Dolidze.
According to Raymund Jehle, the active involvement and support of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia are crucial for the successful implementation of the CPF. He noted that coordinated cooperation among partners will contribute to sector development and the effective implementation of priorities.
It is worth noting that the Country Programme Framework (CPF) defines FAO’s priority areas, under which various activities will be implemented in close cooperation with the Government of Georgia during 2026–2030. These initiatives aim to support the sustainable transformation of agri-food systems in Georgia, strengthen rural development, and promote climate-resilient, inclusive, and environmentally sustainable agriculture.
The CPF outcomes are fully derived from the United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF) 2026–2030, which is based on country analysis, multi-stakeholder consultations, and the experience of previous CPF cycles (2016–2020 and 2021–2025).
The consultation meeting was also attended by Mamuka Meskhi, along with representatives of various ministries and government agencies.
