Tbilisi Will Add 300 New Minibuses

Tbilisi City Hall plans to announce a repeated tender for purchasing new minibus taxis, Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze noted at the Tbilisi Government’s meeting on June 10.

At the first stage, the city hall will buy 300 minibuses through the central budget transfer, Kaladze noted, but he did not specify the deal value.

“New minibus taxis were one of the projects that we announced, but halted later. We prioritize to bring order into the public transport sector and minibus taxis are part of this policy. I thank the Prime Minster and the Finance Minster. We had consultations and we were given additional finances from the central budget to buy new minibuses. In several days Tbilisi Municipality will announce a tender for buying 300 minibuses, while later the whole fleet will be replaced”, Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze noted.

We remind you that the 29-million GEL tender was announced in early April, 2020, but the tender was abolished in several days referring to the pandemic crisis.

It is noteworthy that under the tender announced by Tbilisi Transport Company, Tbilisi City Hall was to buy 300 diesel minibuses of metallic blue color for 29 million GEL.
