TAV Georgia Served 680 Flights During COVID-19 Pandemic
Tbilisi and Batumi International Airports have served 680 flights under emergency conditions.
According to TAV Georgia, Tbilisi Airport has received about 400 cargo flights during this period and provided an average of 200 tons of cargo a week.
In addition, "TAV Georgia" serves technical flights, which means fuel supply and maintenance.
"Our employees are at the forefront of the risk during the current pandemic, you can't compare it with medical staff, but it's quite a risk. After each flight, we completely disinfect buses and land service equipment, ”said Tea Zakaradze, Deputy General Manager of TAV Georgia.
According to her, in the conditions of the pandemic of Covid19, special quarantine zones were organized at the airport, disinfection sanitizers were placed in the terminals.
"Due to the high level of security, we still do not have infected personnel out of 1360 employees, despite the high risk, although our employees are in direct contact with passengers and cargo, aircraft," - said Zakaradze.
