TAV Georgia Increases Investment Value of Batumi International Airport Expansion Project

Tbilisi and Batumi International Airports Operator TAV Georgia is increasing the total investment of the Batumi International Airport Expansion Project to $ 17 million.

As explained in TAV Georgia, the foundation works have been completed in the flight zone and reinforced concrete works are underway, which include the arrangement of columns and roofing.

Excavation works are underway to arrange a cave in the departure zone. And the arrangement of the foundation of the luggage zone has been completed. Communication networks are also being upgraded in the passenger terminal to arrange new fire safety systems.

Infrastructure works will be completed by the end of February 2021.

As a result, the capacity of Batumi International Airport will be doubled. As a result, from 2021 Batumi International Airport will serve 1,200,000 passengers a year. The expansion of the airport has led to an increase in passenger traffic, which in 2019 exceeded 600,000.
