Targeted Pest Control Against the Asian Pheasant Underway in Western Georgia

Based on pest monitoring results, special “Attract and Destroy” stations are being installed in the municipalities of Western Georgia, and spot spraying is being conducted using the cold spray method to combat the Asian pheasant.

To protect pollinators, teams from the National Food Agency’s Asian Pheasant Control Center are placing stations only on non-flowering (non-visited) plants. Prior to treatment, residents are notified in advance via a messaging system.

Notably, in response to rising temperatures and the pest's spread, comprehensive measures are being planned, including spraying of forested areas and groves using thermal fogging technology.
