Solar Alternative Energy to Open Production Line in Kutaisi and Global Sales Office in Tbilisi

Alexander Maier, the CEO of the German AE Solar GmbH, in his speech at the Tbilisi Silk Road Forum, talked about the business-friendly environment for the investors in Georgia.

“We have 150 employees in Georgia and next year we are going to have about 400 people. We launched the first factory with 500 MW installed capacity in Kutaisi this year, which equals to 1,5 mln solar panels and can provide the household with the electricity,” – Maier noted.

The company has more than 500 employees worldwide. AE Solar is planning to set up a new production line in Kutaisi within two years and a global sales office in Tbilisi.

Alexander Maier focused on Georgia’s main investment advantages. “Georgia has great advantages; it is an open economy, it has fair labor law, beneficial geographical location and several Free Trade Agreements. Georgia has a development program aimed at the opening of new businesses. The Government encourages the use of renewable energy to help create a cleaner world for our children. We urge our partners to consider Georgia as a potential partner, and we are trying to promote the growth of the economy and help attract investment to Georgia,” – Alexander Maier said.
