September Records Extreme Growth in Exports
Georgia’s exports indicators have essentially improved in September 2020, however, the January-September indicators remain negative anyway.
The exports upturn in September marked 27% to $246 million. This is the lowest figure since 2018.
As for January-September 2020,exports (without undeclared exports), the figure amounted to $2.403 billion, down 12.1% as compared to the same period of 2019.
Exports without re-exports (domestic exports) constituted 71.6% in total exports. The figure has increased by 2.8% year on year to $1.72 billion.
The ratio of ten major exports markets in Georgia’s total domestic exports marked 79.7% in January-September 2020, including China ($343.3 million), Russia ($280.1 million) and Bulgaria ($228.3 million).
As for exports items, in January-September 2020 copper ores and concentrates ranked first with $541.7 million, (31.5% in total domestic exports). Ferroalloys ranked second with $179.8 million (10.4% in total domestic exports), wines of natural grapes ranked third with $142.7 million (8.3% in total domestic exports).
