Selim Cakir will be a New Representative of Monetary Fund in Georgia
A new representative of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Georgia will be Selim Cakir, who will replace the acting representative François Pesco at the end of June.
Turkish economist Selim Cakir has many years of experience working in the monetary fund and international banks. Mr. Cakir was the chief economist of the Turkish bank, TB (Türk Ekonomi Bankası). Also, worked for "BNP Paribas".
Cakir is already in Tbilisi and holds meetings with the International Monetary Fund. The mission is led by Mercedes Vera-Martin. Within the framework of the visit, negotiations with the executive and legislative authorities of Georgia are held.
