Salaries in Georgia’s Business Sector Rose by GEL 77

According to Sakstat, in the 4th quarter of 2018, the average salary in the business sector made GEL 1,318 per month, which is GEL 77 more than in the same period of 2017.

 The highest growth (0, 8%) was observed in professional and technical activities and made GEL 2 484 per month, in construction – by 1, 5% to GEL 1 968.

In the reporting period, the average monthly salary in the non-industrial and financial sectors increased by GEL 38 and amounted to GEL 1,012 per month. The highest wages are registered in the services and financial sectors.

 At the same time, there is a drastic gender pay gap: men still earn more than women. The average salary of women is GEL 906 a month, men’s salary reaches  GEL  1,468. Apart from that, women’s salary grew by  GEL 46.5, while men’s –  by GEL 81, 1.

The gender pay gap is observed in all sectors of the economy.
