Prime Minister’s Promises for Clinics and Instructions for Health Minister
The Georgian Prime Minister’s meeting with representatives of about 30 clinics regarding the government resolution No 520 has been finished. Health minister Ekaterine Tikaradze has also attended the meeting.
After the meeting Zaza Lazarashvili, president of Association Angiologists and Blood Vessel Surgeons told reporters that under the agreement a special workgroup will be shaped to work on price determination.
The Prime Minister has transmitted special instructions to the Health Minister, he added.
“Negative positions were expressed regarding postponement of the resolution no 520 and the representatives stressed the necessity of developing the program, but the Prime Minister pledged that he will discuss two fundamental issues in several days. He also instructed the Health Minister to correct all inaccuracies and mistakes in tariffs.
Another issue was related to patients’ engagement and their awareness. The Prime Minister noted that this issue will be analyzed in 2-3 days and due conclusions will be made, Lazarashvili said.
The Prime Minister stressed that essential errors must be corrected and logic tariffs should be determined, the president of Association of Angiologists and Blood Vessel Surgeons noted in response to the question whether the Government is ready to correct the tariffs under the resolution no 520.
As to the Ekaterine Tikaradze’s role in this meeting, the Minister has received due instructions.
“Starting tomorrow a special workgroup will launch operation for correcting the tariffs. I do not know who will be united in this group from the Ministry, but clinics will introduce financiers and sectoral associations. Our colleagues also agree that this final pricing is the result of the initial erroneous pricing and this is a key problem”, Lazarashvili said.
