Prime Minister: Over 350,000 Citizens will Receive Social Allowances, Totaling 460 million GEL
More than 350,000 citizens of Georgia will receive social allowances and the state budget will finance this program by 460 million GEL, Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia noted at the meeting of the anti-crisis economic team of the Government’s interdepartmental coordination board.
Giorgi Gakharia will introduce the anti-crisis economic plan at the meeting.
Our objective was to reach all socially vulnerable citizens through various mechanisms and provide efficient care and social aid to our citizens, Giorgi Gakharia pointed out.
„At least, 350,000 citizens will receive our assistance and the state budget will fund these programs by 460 million GEL. Objective of these programs is to provide financial support to the people who have lost job places, for six months.
This is a social care package that we can offer to our citizens thanks to the huge job that we have fulfilled. This is the minimum that Georgia can provide for each citizen from our limited economic resources. However, I would like to note that this also obliges us to be maximally fair and effective and we should realize very well that our priority was to reach as many social groups as possible to provide our care and social assistance to each vulnerable citizen”, Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia noted.
