Passenger Traffic at Georgian Airports Up 19%
Passenger traffic in Georgia's airports increased by 19% in January-May 2019.
According to the Civil Aviation Agency of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, in the reporting period, Georgian airports carried 1,912,352passengers by regular and charter flights.
The increase was observed in the country’s three airports in April. Tbilisi International Airport served 1,485,079 passengers in five months, which is 12% more than in the same period of last year.
In April 2019, passenger flow increased by 69% at Kutaisi International Airport and reached 288,626 passengers in 4 months.
The growth trend continues at Batumi International Airport. In January-May, 2019,135,939 passengers traveled from Batumi Aleksandre Kartveli International Airport that is 24% more compared to the same period of the last year.
The domestic airports served 2,708 passengers in 5 months that is 26% more than in the same period of last year.
Mestia Airport served 28% or 2,340 more passengers in 5 months. However, Ambrolauri Airport received 368 passengers in the first 5 months of 2019, which is 19% more compared to the same period of the last year.
