The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Davit Songulashvili, introduced the new Chairman of the Agency of Protected Areas to the agency’s staff.
The Minister wished Otar Edisherashvili success in carrying out the important work that serves the protection of Georgia’s unique natural heritage, the preservation of biodiversity, and the sustainable development of protected areas.
“Otar Edisherashvili has significant experience in leadership positions across various fields, which will allow us to further develop the Agency of Protected Areas with new perspectives and successfully address both current and future challenges. Protected areas and their biodiversity are among the most valuable assets that make our country distinctive and unique. Therefore, their management requires special responsibility and a systemic approach. I am confident that the new Chairman will successfully lead the agency in a way that, on the one hand, preserves this uniqueness and, on the other hand, ensures that these areas remain accessible for visitors,” said Davit Songulashvili.
Otar Edisherashvili thanked the Minister for the trust placed in him and expressed his readiness to lead the Agency of Protected Areas based on the principles of teamwork.
