Number of Cargo Carried Through Georgia Increased by 573%

General Director of JSC "Georgian Railway" David Peradze met with the executive director of the shipowner and operator of "FRANCO COMPANIA NAVIERA", Marily Frangista and the management team. The meeting was attended by the Ambassador of Georgia to Greece Republic Ioseb Nanobashvili.

Within the meeting, JSC "Georgian Railway" and "FRANCO COMPANIA NAVIERA" agreed to share information related to the project and coordinate the issues needed for cooperation.

It is noteworthy that in 2018, the number of containers shipped from China increased by (TEU)177%, and 573% increase in cargo carried through Georgia was observed.

In addition, in 2019, the container ship is running on the Caspian Sea, which positively affects transit times and cargo turnover, makes it more relevant to establish direct container links on the Black Sea.
