Nino Tandilashvili Participates in Georgia–Japan Business Forum 2026

First Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, Nino Tandilashvili, participated in the Georgia–Japan Business Forum 2026.

In her opening remarks, the First Deputy Minister highlighted the importance of the longstanding friendly relations between Georgia and Japan and emphasized the need to deepen cooperation in agriculture and environmental protection.

“I would like to thank the Government of Japan and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Georgia, Hideki Ishizuka, for many years of effective cooperation. We believe that Georgia and Japan have significant potential to strengthen collaboration in agriculture, the development of a green economy, and environmental protection,” said Nino Tandilashvili.

The First Deputy Minister also participated in the forum’s thematic session, “Renewable Energy and Environment,” where she spoke about the importance of solar energy projects in the country, the necessity of addressing climate change, and the need to introduce modern technologies in Georgia.

According to her, the Joint Crediting Mechanism (JCM) creates significant opportunities for financing environmental and energy-efficient projects, as well as for advancing green initiatives.

“Georgia offers a favorable investment environment, creating strong opportunities for increasing investments in renewable energy and environmental protection, while opening new prospects for the private sector,” she added.

The Georgia–Japan Business Forum 2026 was organized by the Embassy of Japan in Georgia, in partnership with the Georgia–Japan Business Association and the Istanbul office of the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO).

The forum was attended by representatives of government institutions, leading Georgian and Japanese companies, and investors.
