Nino Tandilashvili Meets UNICEF Representative in Georgia, Isabella Castrogiovanni
First Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, Nino Tandilashvili, met with the newly appointed UNICEF Representative in Georgia, Isabella Castrogiovanni.
During the introductory meeting, the parties discussed ongoing cooperation and explored opportunities for future joint initiatives.
Nino Tandilashvili briefed the UNICEF Representative on the activities of the Environmental Information and Education Centre, highlighting its work in environmental education, public awareness, and information campaigns, as well as the Centre's ongoing and completed projects.
"Environmental protection and healthy ecosystems are directly linked to the health and well-being of future generations. We highly value our partnership with UNICEF and are committed to further strengthening our cooperation through joint initiatives that promote children's rights and ensure a healthy environment for every child," said Nino Tandilashvili.
The meeting also focused on raising environmental awareness, addressing climate change, and promoting a healthy environment. Particular attention was given to the importance of Children's Environmental Health and the need to increase public awareness in this area.
Isabella Castrogiovanni noted that environmental protection, climate change, and children's health are among the key areas with strong potential for enhanced cooperation between UNICEF and the Ministry.
The meeting, held at the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, was also attended by Tamta Devdariani, Director of the Environmental Information and Education Centre; David Chitaishvili, Head of the Ministry's International Relations Department; and Nino Dzotsenidze, Health Officer at UNICEF Georgia.
