Mariam Kvrivishvili: Israeli Airlines is Ready to Return to Georgian Airspace
Israeli Airlines is ready to return to Georgian airspace, said Mariam Kvrivishvili, head of the National Tourism Administration, in the program "Four Partners of Business".
She said that the Israeli ambassador to Georgia has already publicly stated that the talks between Georgia and Israel are at an important stage.
"Israel has always been one of our most strategic partner countries when it comes to tourism, and not only that. It should be noted that the Israeli national airlines are ready to return to the Georgian airspace. On the other hand, this is an important, positive message for the whole world, as we all know how much Israel attaches special importance to security, observance of norms, and in this case it is Georgia, "- said Mariam Kvrivishli.
The head of the National Tourism Administration does not talk about other details due to the protocols of different countries. At the same time, Kvrivishvili notes the readiness of 18 out of 36 airlines to resume flights. "These are at least 18 destinations that will be added to our country by direct air traffic, which means even more connections with transit countries," Kvrivishvili said.
Mariam Kvrivishvili stressed the importance of Georgia's successful deal with the challenges of Covid-19, explaining that it helps the tourism industry in the first place and the country's overall positioning in the international arena, while Georgia is the first country to open its borders.
According to Mariam Kvrivishvili, this has been a positive initiative for many countries. ”This means that we are not alone and all the strategic target countries that have traditionally been interesting to us or want to gain more market share are within the framework of safe corridor negotiations ", - said the head of National Tourism Administration.
