March Records 12.3% Upturn in Exports and 104 million USD Contraction in Imports

Exports in March 2019 made up 321 million USD, up 12.3% year on year.

According to Geostat, the national statistics service of Georgia, Georgia’s imports in March 2018 constituted 844 million USD, but the figure declined to 740 million USD in March 2019, down 104 million USD year on year.

In whole, in January-March 2019, external trade turnover made up 2.807 billion USD, down 0.1% year on year, including exports marked 826 million USD, up 12.8% and imports constituted 1.98 billion USD, down 4.7%.

Negative trade balance marked 1.15 billion USD in January-March 2019, which is 41.1% of external trade turnover.
