Li Hui: Georgia-China Trade Volume in 2018 Exceeded 1 billion USD
Li Hui, special envoy of People’s Republic of China in Eurasia Region talked about the importance of cooperation between countries at Silk Road Tbilisi Forum, as part of the introductory panel –Together for Joint Future: Stable and Sustainable Growth Models.
"Thanks to joint efforts, we have shaped a network comprising 6 corridors, 6 interconnected routes and many countries and seaports. Georgia actively participates in these developments. It is very important that China-Georgia have signed and enforced a free trade agreement. In 2018 Georgia-China trading volume exceeded 1 billion USD, whilst in the first half of 2019 the figure reached 900 million USD”, representatives of the Chinese delegation noted.
Chinese investments have been made in various economic fields of Georgia, Li Hui noted.
“We know that Georgia is the shortest route between Europe and Asia. I am sure that today’s Forum is very important. This top-level Forum will bring wide public and government reaction. This forum illustrates the aspirations of Silk Road project and we hope the represented companies will actively participate in negotiations and enhance cooperation”, he said.
He also expressed desire that Government of Georgia hold a presentation, forum, in China with the aim to attract more investments to Georgia.
