Irakli Gharibashvili: After Azerbaijan, Georgia has the Cheapest Gas in Europe
Since 2-3 weeks ago, gas prices in Europe have climbed dramatically. The price of 1000 cubic meters of gas has risen to $3900, according to Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Gharibashvili, stated at a government meeting.
Georgia, after Azerbaijan, has the cheapest natural gas in Europe, according to him.
"The contracts that the government has signed with Azerbaijan are miserably small. I would say we are in second or third place in Europe, after Azerbaijan, in terms of gas prices. In Europe, after Azerbaijan, gas is the cheapest in Georgia. Therefore, I ask everyone to show more responsibility in this stressful situation and not to mislead the citizens," said the Prime Minister.
