Government to Collect at least 120 million GEL from Privatization in 2020
“We have realistic plans to collect 100 million GEL proceeds by the end of 2019 (from privatization). Consequently, we expect to collect 120-150 million GEL in 2020”, Minister of Economy Natia Turnava told the Business Course TV program.
Our objective is to accelerate the privatization process to shape better conditions for private business and investors, the Economy Minister noted.
“At the same time, the Government holds excessive assets that are waiting for their owners and that must be put into economic turnover. Today there are many properties, especially in regions and municipalities that are not loaded by even 10%. There are a lot of Soviet-period buildings in disastrous condition and we should do our best that these assets find new openers”, Turnava said.
