Giorgi Gakharia: We make Sure that Citizens won't Encounter Deficit on Groceries and Household Items
"Our key goal is to make sure that citizens of this country encounter no deficit on groceries or other household consumption products" announced Giorgi Gakharia, Prime Minister of Georgia at a meeting with managers of grocery stores and chains today.
According to the Head of Government of Georgia, there is no reason of running a deficit in the demand side of merchandise.
"I can assume that this fuss about demand can be linked with two possible aspects: weekends usually tend to be associated with high demand or alternatively people have an expectation of an emergency situation be announced any time soon. Nevertheless, we have no reason of doing so as of today.
Our task is to provide maximum support in terms of logistic solutions as well as interaction with the Revenue Service of Georgia and supply chain. Whatever is within our domain, we will do our best to serve as facilitators in the most efficient manner. What we need from you is to keep the right stock at warehouses and in the distribution chain so that no problem occurs in actual terms.
Besides, we know objectively on the basis of current numbers that there is no reason of running a deficit in the country. Hence, let us solve the problem so that we get from you a set of specific suggestions and pledges on the grounds of social responsibility. From our side, we commit to deliver whatever we promise.
Main goal is that citizens of this country should experience no deficit of commodities as there is simply no reason for it. Overall government infrastructure stands ready to support you to make sure that groceries and household items get to shelves on time, in sufficient quantities and with prices adequate to current challenges" concluded the Prime Minister of Georgia.
