Germany Allocates 27 Million Euros to Support the Reform of Georgian Energy Sector
Today, an agreement was signed between Georgia and the Reconstruction Credit Bank (KfW) on "Economy Stabilization with the Support of Energy Sector Reform", according to which 27 million euros of budget support financial resources will be allocated to Georgia.
The document was signed by the Minister of Finance of Georgia, Lasha Khutsishvili, and the director of KfW's Tbilisi office, Birgit Holderid Kress.
The event was attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to Georgia Ernst Peter Fischer.
The agreement involves the implementation of the fifth phase of the energy sector reform, which provides support for the reforms planned by the Georgian government in the energy sector. With this agreement, the Government of Georgia will continue to realize the potential of renewable energy, energy efficiency, and market-oriented electricity.
