Geostat: External Merchandise Trade of Georgia decreased in June

According to the National Statistics Office of Georgia, in June 2019, compared with the same period of the previous year, indicators of External Merchandise Trade decreased and external trade turnover reduction amounts to 8.5 percent.

According to the National Statistics data, External Merchandise Trade (excluding non-declared trade) of Georgia amounted to USD 5 968.3 million in January-June 2019, 0.6 percent lower year-on-year.

According to Geostat, the value of export increased by 11.5 percent reaching USD 1 775.4 million, while the import decreased by 4.9 percent and amounted to USD 4 192.9 million. The trade deficit equaled USD 2 417.4 million and its share in trade turnover constituted 40.5 percent.
