In June Georgia’s national debt increased by GEL 658 million and amounted to GEL 19.8 billion.
The foreign debt in dollars increased by $ 71 million, the debt in lari - GEL 560 million. In March the domestic debt increased by GEL 98 million.
As of June 30, Georgia’s foreign debt totaled GEL 15.6 billion, while the domestic debt - GEL 4.2 billion.
International organizations account for 70% of the national debt, including 5.5 billion from the World Bank. Georgia owes Germany the most – GEL 910 million, followed by France - GEL 691 million.
Georgia’s national debt is about 45% of GDP.
