Georgian Railway's Revenue Increased by GEL 32 Million in Six Months

During the 6 months of 2019 Georgian Railway revenues from freight traffic increased significantly.

Specifically, compared to the same period of the previous year, revenues increased by 32.7 million GEL (23%), while revenues for the same period in 2017 exceeded 20.8 million GEL (14%).

Although crude oil rail shipments have declined sharply in recent years, and shipments of this type of cargo have fallen to zero in 2019, revenue growth has been driven by an increase in dry freight.

It is noteworthy that 2018 has begun attracting new freight for rail freight, including Kazakh wheat and coal.
