Georgian Opposition Demands Extraordinary Meeting of Parliament

In light of the recent events in Ukraine, Georgia's parliamentary opposition has called for an extraordinary meeting of the Georgian parliament. Salome Zurabishvili, Georgia's president, indicated that she will sign the demand for the conference to take place.

Tamar Kordzaia, an independent deputy from the United National Movement faction, stated the demand for the extraordinary meeting.

"Today is the worst day for Europe since World War II, according to European leaders.  Despite this, the authorities remain silent and inactive. Georgia will pay a high price for its quiet and inaction.

Therefore, we propose specific initiatives to the Georgian administration and, in this case, the parliament. We write to Georgia's President, requesting that she call an extraordinary meeting of the Parliament with a specified agenda, which should include Russia's military action against Ukraine." Tina Bokuchava, a member of the United National Movement, stated.
